Health Tips: Nipple piercing – All about Nipple Piercing

Hey girls and guys, nipple has become the top piercing site for young girls and boys. Mostly people go for nipple piercing because they consider it as quite sexual. But even if your have other reasons for nipple piercing, the point is that proper care should be taken before and after piercing is done by a qualified expert.

Nipple piercing process is different for both men and women. Firstly, the nipple area is cleaned and anesthetized. Then, two dots are marked on either side of nipple horizontally or vertically. The nipple area is then loosened by mild massage and forceps are placed around nipple in case you draw backwards during piercing procedure. A hollow needle is then inserted and pulled out and jewelley piece is set in it via needle.

Proper care should be taken once piercing is done to avoid any sort of infection. follow the instructions given by expert like avoid touching pierced area often, how to turn and play with jewellery piece, use of soaps whilebathing , swimming procedure, cleaning procedure and type of clothes you can wear after getting nipple pierced. Keep in mind that total healing of nipples would take 3-4 months, so one should be cautious enough.

Women should avoid getting their areola pierced but only the nipple area. If you have got breast implants, make sure you do not get any piercing done. Also, women undergoing chemotherapy and using immunosuppressive drugs should avoid getting nipple piercing done to stay way from any kind of infection.

Remember that if you feel any kind of yellow pus or discharge coming out from nipple or experience fever, vomiting, swelling then rush to doctor as soon as possible. Check whether instruments used for piercing purpose have got sterilized beforehand or not! Wear jewellery made from gold, surgical steel and titanium to avoid any kind of infections.
